Snowy days spent stitching …

DSCF1836        On the Bernina today is quite a large embroidery (110cms by 35cms)  which I started stitching in late December. As it is going to hang rather than be framed the finishing off will take some time too. It`s a busy picture with 25 figures, three angels and five rats …Sample       Snowy days spent stitching …

Happy stitching  …

Diary Dates for September

On Thursday the 6th September, you can find me talking @ Marches Branch of the Embroiderers Guild, Craven Arms. Lots of stitching tales to tell and show, including “let your happiness shine through”. My most recent piece of work inspired and stitched for the Qube Open Art Exhibition (Oswestry) with the theme Celebrate. It goes on display this month through to the 30th October.

Plenty of workshops from my home in Hindford, near Whittington this month. Two things we will be stitching will be little birds with wire legs and water soluble bowls. Come join me for a day of happy stitching. (small groups)

Textured sunshine …

I loved this beach and the tents stretched across it … the children were all smaller and ran in and around them. It`s near the lovely town of St Malo in Brittainy, I think it was called Dinard but correct me if I`m wrong.

Off on our summer holidays again in a weeks time, hopefully I will be inspired to bring back some more textured sunshine.

Happy holidays …

Boats, dogs, a lion and a fountain …

untitled

Boats, dogs, a lion and a fountain … what a tale this embroidery has to tell. At 42x64cms, this is quite a large piece of work for me. After quite a while considering and planning, it all just fell into place as I stitched.

I was working to a deadline, which helps too!

Stitching days …

Embroideries out to dry!

Is that the washing out to dry? No, just a little bit of embroidery … Well I`ve been on my machine all morning, popped outside for a stretch, and what do I find but sunshine and straight lines! Worth stitching for sure! And what is hanging on the line? A funny little horse race and a rainy day picture. I find myself stitching a few of these smaller embroideries (17.5 x 13cms)  at the moment, with the intention to further develop into larger pieces. They have lots of detail with an introduction to their tale in words, like,” how do you choose your horse darling? By the colour of his saddle … ”

Happy days …
